Redwood Mobility & Access began with a simple conviction: the way you move through your home shapes the way you live in it. We work with individuals, families, and healthcare providers to make homes safe for recovery, for aging in place, and for everyday life — through honest assessment, quality installation, and coordinated care.
Redwood is veteran-owned and veteran-operated — a U.S. Navy veteran serving fellow veterans and neighbors in their homes. We are a licensed California contractor (CSLB #1157650), bonded and insured, and an SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business serving VA medical centers across California. What is aging in place, and how can you help? Aging in place means staying in your own home safely and independently as your needs change — rather than moving to assisted living or a care facility. We help make that possible through home accessibility assessments, grab bar installation, bathroom modifications, entryway improvements, and durable medical equipment selection and setup.
What does a home accessibility assessment include? We walk through your entire home to identify fall risks, mobility barriers, and modification opportunities — with particular attention to bathrooms, entryways, and high-traffic transitions. You receive a clear recommendation and a personalized quote.
Do you work with VA occupational therapists and case managers? Yes — this is core to our work. We coordinate directly with VA occupational therapists, physical therapists, case managers, and prosthetics teams: assessment, recommendations, installation, and completion documentation, start to finish, so providers don't have to manage the details. Redwood is veteran-owned, SDVOSB-certified, and built to work within the VA system.
Are your installers licensed and insured? Yes. All work is performed by licensed, insured contractors. Redwood holds California contractor license CSLB #1157650, with contractor bond and general liability insurance. We are also an SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and a SAM-registered federal vendor serving VA medical centers across California.
Do your installations meet ADA standards? Yes, when ADA compliance is required. We install grab bars, handrails, and accessibility hardware to ADA specifications when requested — including for healthcare facilities, VA projects, and any application where formal compliance is needed. Let us know at the time of assessment and we will ensure all specifications meet the required standards.
What brands and products do you work with? We work with leading manufacturers including Moen, Delta, Kohler, Healthcraft, Handicare, Drive Medical, Platinum Health, HOMLAND, Vaunn Medical, and Bocca Tubs, among others. We don't represent any single brand — our job is to know the options well enough to recommend the right product for each person and each home.
How quickly can you complete an installation? Most standard installations — grab bars, handrails, hardware — are completed within a few days of assessment. Larger modifications like tub-to-shower conversions are scheduled based on scope and material lead times.
What areas do you serve? We serve California from two home bases. In Southern California — headquartered in Ojai — we cover Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, greater Los Angeles, the Inland Empire and high desert, Orange County, and San Diego and Imperial Counties. In Northern California, we cover the East Bay, the greater Bay Area, the Sacramento region, the Central Valley, and north through Chico and Redding.
